VecMap tools for 3ds Max 2016 - 2018

[ #3dsMax ]
Developed by Kinématic LAB, VECmap tools is a new toolset to paint and use vector maps inside 3dsmax. This tool allows you to paint vector maps directly on your meshes, and use them to drive particles, UV or mesh deformations, Vray Fur and probably
other things.

Features :

-Paint on meshes.
-Change Brush Size : CTRL+SHIFT key.
-Change brush opacity.
-Change brush blur.
-Paint vectors in the direction of your Brush Stroke.
-Attract / repulse option.
-Undo, Redo, Reset options.
-Delete Brush : ALT key
-Straight lines Brush : SHIFT key.
-Change MAP size.
-Save – Load a map.

Pflow mode :
-2 new Data preset to read the vector maps.
-Set a Speed from a vector map.
-Stick on surface.
-change Speed of the particles along the map.
-Rotation from the vectors.

UV mode :
-New modifier to simulate UV’s deformations along Vector maps.
-or simulate mesh deformations.

This is a scripted modifier, it works very well, but be careful with too high meshes, the simulation can take time.
And trying to display the vector lines on a too high mesh can slow down 3dsmax,
(so paint your map on a low res mesh and increase the résolution to simulate ).

Vray Fur mode :

-Paint a map to drive the Fur Initial direction and Bend Direction.

GeoTracker 1.3 - Tracking tool for NUKE 8 - 11.1

[ #Nuke #Compositing ]
GeoTracker is a Nuke node for model-based single view object and camera tracking. It’s accurate, easy-to-use and fast. GeoTracker is developed using low level Nuke’s C++ API

GeoTracker 1.3 is now available and It brings tracking deformable objects included:

• ReadRiggedGeo, a separate node which allows loading models with skeletons (.fbx or .dae). Bones tree is available in properties, supports expressions, also animation can be loaded from the file with the model. So it’s a very handy node by itself.
• Models which are loaded with this node can be used as an input for GeoTracker or PinTool. They can be deformed manually at keyframes via dragging pins or changing axes of individual bones in 3D mode.
• You may add constraints on all parameters to minimize the number of possible rotations or, for example, to lock object movement in one plane.
• And of course, you may track such models using GeoTracker. All functions like user-tracks, surface masks, smoothing are available for deformable objects as well as for rigid objects.
• As the result, you get animated geometry and also can create a TransformGeo tied to any individual bone.

FLIP Fluids Plugin for Blender

[ #Blender #Fluid #Simulation #environment ]
A new fulid simulation tool for Blender called FLIP Fluids just comes out, the plugin gives you the ability to create high quality fluid effects all within Blender, the free and open source 3D creation suite. Created by Ryan Guy and Dennis Fassbaender.

FLIP Fluids Beta
The core fluid engine, a FLIP-based fluid solver, has been under development for over three years with over a year of development focused on tightly integrating the simulator into Blender as an addon.

>> See Also: ManuelbastioniLAB 1.6.0 for Blender

Highlight Features:
• High Performance: The core fluid engine, written in C++, is designed for running high performance computations and massive physics calculations efficiently. Multithreaded and able to leverage the power of your GPU, this simulator is optimized for speed. • Whitewater Generation: Create awesome large scale fluid effects with the whitewater simulator. Generate and simulate millions of foam, bubble, and spray particles to give a sense of realism to large bodies of water. • Viscosity Solver: Use the high quality viscosity solver to accurately simulate thin silky-smooth liquids, thick fluids that buckle and coil, and anything in between. • Built-in Mesh Generation: The built-in mesher generates highly detailed meshes so that your fluid surface is render-ready immediately after simulation. This mesh generator is memory efficient and able to produce meshes containing millions of triangles without requiring massive amounts of RAM. • Fracture Modifier Support: Create interesting destruction simulations by using the FLIP Fluids addon with the Blender Fracture Modifier branch. The fluid engine is optimized to support fractured objects that may contain hundreds to thousands of individual pieces. • Excellent User Experience: The addon interface was designed with a focus on functionality and usability to create a comfortable workflow. View simulation progress, meshes, and statistics in real-time. Pause and resume simulation baking- even after a Blender crash. Create and manage your own preset settings. Quickly apply materials from the fluid material library.
